TBF 093 :: The Farmer Christmas List, Overwhelmed, and a Hard Lesson Learned

farmersgiftguide.jpgThis past week has been a bit overwhelming on the farm and in our world of farm business planning. When things get that way it is always nice to do something a little more lighthearted and fun, which is exactly why I have put together my Second Annual Beginning Farmer Christmas List! Farmers can be hard to shop for because usually if there is something they need it is needed at that moment and can’t wait for the nearest birthday or holiday, but it is still nice to have something for them to open up if you have a farmer or future farmer on your shopping list. On today’s episode (and listed below) you’ll find ten things that I think make great gifts because I use them on my farm, or they are so awesome that I actually have them on my wish list. There are things for reading, things for working, things for making that work easier, and of course even a bonus item that will help you clean up at the end of the day …

A very nice list. Wish I’d known that such a thing as a staple driver existed 30 years ago!
Love the podcast and really looking forward to video in the future. I plan to be one of the first to support your Kickstarter project.

Is that staple driver the best looking thing! The farmer that I work for is even checking it out because they are constantly fixing or building fence. It might even be worth the money if you were building a brand new fence and had quite a stretch to do. And thank you for such kind words about the video project!

Do you happen to recall if you got my email(s) a few weeks back wherein I was offering some unsolicited advice regarding your video?

My fencing lately is t-post based, so the tool on my wish-list is one of those t-post poppers so I don’t have to get out the handy-man jack or a tractor. However, should I ever find myself buying staples, you can be sure that there will be one of those staple drivers on order!

I just finished Forrest Pritchard’s ‘Gaining Ground’ and it was fantastic.

That is great to hear! It is on my list that is for sure.
